About BBPlayland

Asked, not answered.

Two things for grades 3–8: Archie, the Test Prep Coach for reading, math and science, who never hands over the answer, and The AI Literacy, a six-plate course a child takes with him.

Kids don’t get answers here. They get asked better questions.

A child does not consume a lesson. They build one.

BBPlayland is made and run by Buzzing Bees Playland, LLC, a New York company. The coach is Archie, and he works the way a good teacher does with a child who is stuck: he never states an answer — he names what the child seems to have mixed up and points at the paragraph where the evidence is, then asks. That is enforced by a check on every reply, not by hoping it behaves.

Built for New York, in New York’s own materials.

The reading passages are the ones New York released from its own state tests, and every question — reading, math and science, grades 3–8 — is set out the way those tests set them out: a passage or a problem, and four choices. The standards are the state’s Next Generation Learning Standards — English, mathematics and science — loaded from its own documents. The law we build to is the state’s: , alongside and .

Eight rules that override every other instruction.

The eight rules

Each one is a build constraint the code is tested against, not a promise in a document.

  1. 1No student’s or teacher’s name, identifier or contact details ever leave our closed system.
  2. 2If the scrubbing that protects it fails, the request is refused — never sent unscrubbed.
  3. 3The child’s record has no field for a name. Not optional, not encrypted — absent.
  4. 4The map from scrubbed placeholders back to real text lives only on our servers, for five minutes, and is never logged.
  5. 5Every hint request is logged before the answer is returned.
  6. 6Districts are separated in the database itself, not only in our code.
  7. 7Archie never states a correct answer.
  8. 8A standards code is never invented; if the state didn’t publish one, there is none.

Built and playable. Said plainly.

Archie and the course are built and playable, and so are the parent view and the teacher’s portal. Family sign-up is opening, Archie is free for families during early access, and schools agree a pilot with us directly. Nothing on this site is staged.
